My More Recent painting Trip
I've had a couple of short trips away painting, producing a variety of subjects from each trip. More recently I travelled with Todd Whisson to Kiama to visit an old friend of mine, Marion. It was only for two days but we managed to do some field work around the coast. From there we ventured further south to Sussex Inlet to visit Robert Simpson. an artist friend. It was a short but fruitful trip, bringing home works that I am very pleased with.
We then wandered up to the Blue Mountains to Hartley, where we painted with Warrick Fuller, another artist friend, and we were more than pleased with the surrounding environment and brought back a few small works and a few ideas for future paintings. In October my usual painting gang met for a week's camping and painting, on the outskirts of Forbes, where I managed to find a few interesting subjects in grey day tones and some sunny outlooks. There are four images below which will be included in a "Small Studies" display at Katoomba Fine Art in December this year.

Yet another Outback Expedition
In early June I travelled with a group of artists to Bourke, in western New South Wales. Although the weather wasn't altogether ideal for painting I was still able to find agreeable subjects to paint in the two weeks outback, but all have a greyish light to them.
The camps were great and the wildlife interesting. We had a couple of visitors for breakfast as two emus joined us. They found us as interesting as we found them. We came across a hundred or so black cockatoos feeding on the dried out burs and was a sight to see, so many in one flock. We made our way down the darling river to Louth, Tilpa and Wilcania, finishing our trip at Whitecliffs, an old opal mining town. You can view a few of these on the link below.

A Beautiful Trip to the Mudgee Region, Western NSW
In April I spent a leisurely few days with my wife Denice, and friends, Katherine, Ken and Pam exploring the small gold mining area around Mudgee. We began the trip driving through the Capertee Valley and on through Rhylestone to Mudgee.
We also visited Hillend, where nature turned on its most beautiful display of Autumn colours.
It was spectacular driving into this town, with the streets adorned with gold, glistening from the trees and on the roadside as they dropped from the branches. From there we ventured on to Sofala, which has a special place in my heart, as it was there that I began my career as an artist.

My Trip to Lucignano
We visited Lucignano for 3 weeks. Ben Long showed us around and also completed my portrait whilst I was there, which is shown below.
I think my favourite subject matter were the sunflowers in different lights, as they were coming to the end of their life cycle. I have a few images from this trip, through the link below.

America-Australia Association
Recently I was invited to attend a dinner in Melbourne for the presentation of my painting, to Chip Goodyear (Former CEO of BHP). An article in the Financial Review (Rear Window) states the following "Chip and Elizabeth were more excited by the surprise gift on the night - a painting by Kasey Sealy of Melbourne's Government House - a building Chip has apparently taken a shine to over his nine years in the Southern Capital"
In September this year, my painting of the Blue Mts was presented to Jim McKinerny (CEO of Boeing Air Coorporation) at a dinner in New York. I have been commissioned by the America-Australia Association President, Malcolm Binks, to complete five paintings to date, for members of their Association. I feel very proud to be chosen from the many Australian artists to create these artworks. Three of the commissions were presented by Rupert Murdoch & Malcolm Binks.
The first was for Australian golfer, Greg Norman, presented in New York in 2004.
The second commission in 2005, was for the President of Dow Corning Chemical Company, Andrew Liveris- another Australian who has had great success in the States. The third commission was in 2006 for the CEO of Duke Energy in America, Paul Anderson (ex - CEO of BHP). Each of the commissions were subjects related to the recipients background in Australia and is why the particular subject matter was chosen for each presentation. |

From My Back Door in Berowra
Berowra lies on the Northern outskirts of Sydney,I moved with my family in 2000. We are surrounded by some of the most beautiful bushland in the world. My favourite pastime is to wander around the tracks, just below our house. The glorious sandstone boulders and native flora offers me an assembly of subjects to reproduce. It has also provided an assortment of unexpected adventures, from hail storms, bush fires and reptile activities. The photo below is of 2 red-bellied black snakes, one eating the other.
The fires in 2001, came up to our back fence and we had one of the large helicopters, (Hercules), dropping water on our house. In 2002 we had a massive hailstorm, which left Berowra looking like a snow field, with a foot or more of ice on houses and roads. Recently, Sydney experienced more fires, which were not far from our back door. In the photo below, you can see the beginning of the fire, which started just over the hill from my home.
